The Malaria Philatelists International (MPI) is an organization of philatelists devoted topical collectors of stamps, essays, proofs, errors, slogans, first day covers (FDCs), commercial covers, and other special memorabilia relating to malaria -- its treatment, history, control and eradication campaigns.

In support of these activities MPI issues a quartely journal "Miasma Philatelists", which will be a 'published' set of web pages filled with images and information and which will keep members informed about philately dealing with malaria, including club activities, on-going research and new items of philatelic interest to the topical malaria philatelists.

In addition, the "Malaria on Stamps" catalog will continue to grow with the group's help in order to document all aspects of philately and malaria including stamps, cancels, meters, proofs, essays, FDCs, commercial covers, errors, and whatever else peaks members' interest.

Brief History of the MPI

In late 1979, the first quarterly journal named 'Miasma Philatelist' was published. A name for the organization would eventually be 'Malaria Philatelists International'. This naming occured in early 1980 and by mid 1981, the organization received affilate status in the Amercian Philatelic Society, the Society of Philatelic American, and the Amercian Topical Association.
