34 Rejected Designs for the 1962 Malaria Eradication Issue
(Published: February, 2026, Volume 24, Number 1, Issue #55) (Table Of Contents)(Author: Daniel Piazza)
A few years ago, I visited the Smithsonian National Postal Museum in Washington D.C. and I looked through the archives. In the boxes
were dozens of photographic essays of the rejected designs. At a stamp show a year or so ago, I saw Daniel Piazza (the Chief Curator of Philately)
and I asked if he could get scans. Daniel was kind enough to make and send scans made from medium-format photo negatives in the Third Assistant Postmaster General's Papers, National Postal Museum Library.
Comment from Daniel: Some of the designs were numbered or lettered. Where that was the case, I have named the file that way. Anything not numbered or lettered I named "Unnumbered."
