My name is Stephen Patrick and I have collected stamps since I was 12 years old. I have been a member of the Central Florida Stamp Club (CFSC) for over 35 years. In a box lot from Michael Rogers stamp auctions two years ago, I found a manila envelope with about 50 maleria covers. In doing research, I found the M.S.I. and joined, being delighted at the cost (free!).

On February 4, 2016, I gave my PowerPoint presentation to about 30 of our nearly 100 members of the CFSC. The slides are mostly self explanitory, but I added a commentary and invited all to become a member of MPI. I think the recent scare of the Zika virus makes this a timely topic. I aked if anyone had ever experienced maleria and thankfully the answer was zero, but two members came to me afterwards and described how they received anti maleria medicine in their service in Viet Nam.

I plan to mount the covers and then perhaps tackle the project of locating as many of the 100 plus issues that may be in my Scott worldwide albums and remounting them as a topical collection. I may join the ATA as I was impressed with those folks at the Atlanta APS show.

The first three slides of the presentation are below and the whole 27 page slides are here: Malaria Philatelists.pdf
